Device Quality Settings
To ensure the best possible streaming quality from our Plex server, you need to adjust your device's quality settings. Follow these steps for your specific device:
Important: These settings ensure you get maximum quality when streaming content. Make sure you have a stable internet connection before making these changes.
Mobile & Tablet Apps (iOS/Android)
- Open the Plex app on your device
- Tap on Settings (usually in the menu or profile section)
- Look for Quality or Video Quality settings
- Set Local Quality to Maximum
- Set Remote Quality to Maximum
- Save your settings and restart the app
Smart TV Apps
- Open the Plex app on your Smart TV
- Navigate to Settings using your remote
- Find the Quality or Video section
- Set Local Quality to Maximum
- Set Remote Quality to Maximum
- Apply the changes and exit settings
Desktop & Web Player
- Open Plex in your web browser or desktop app
- Click on your profile icon in the top right
- Select Settings from the dropdown
- Go to Quality in the left sidebar
- Set Local Quality to Maximum
- Set Remote Quality to Maximum
- Click Save Changes
Gaming Consoles (Xbox, PlayStation)
- Launch the Plex app on your console
- Navigate to Settings using your controller
- Look for Quality or Playback settings
- Set Local Quality to Maximum
- Set Remote Quality to Maximum
- Confirm and save your changes
Troubleshooting
Common Issues & Solutions:
Buffering or Poor Quality
- Check your internet connection speed
- Ensure settings are saved properly
- Try restarting the Plex app
- Use the Speed Test to check connectivity
Can't Find Quality Settings
- Update your Plex app to the latest version
